Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET)
The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). This examination is the gateway for entry into various professional courses offered in Government and Private Colleges of Andhra Pradesh. After clearing AP EAMCET, the candidates become eligible for admission into various courses that include Engineering (BTech), Bio-Technology, BTech (Dairy Technology), BTech (Agricultural Engineering), BTech (Food Science and Technology), BSc (Ag)/BSc (Hort)/BVSc & AH/BFSc, B.Pharmacy, Pharma. D.
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) started assigning the task of conducting the AP EAMCET to JNTU Kakinada after the reorganization of the State of Andhra Pradesh. The APSCHE has shown faith in JNTUK for the smooth conduct of the AP EAMCET twice in 2015 and 2016 in offline mode and once in 2017 in online mode.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada, Kakinada, was established as a Government College of Engineering in 1946. It became a part of JNTU, Hyderabad in the year 1972 and was transformed into a State Government funded University in 2008. It is the second largest technological university in India and about 273 engineering colleges are affiliated to it. JNTUK Kakinada has produced highly skilled and professional engineers over the years by designing high quality curriculum and by inculcating students with appropriate skills in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Science, Pharmacy and Management.
JNTUK Kakinada has an innovative examination pattern that enables the candidates to write the entrance test in hassle-free manner. The university has further introduced technology in the evaluation process and strives to declare the results as per the deadline. At the time of “Ranks Declaration”, JNTUK hosts the OMR answer sheets on the University Website to ensure transparency.
Eligibility Criteria of AP EAMCET 2018To be eligible for AP EAMCET 2018, the candidates should fulfill the following criteria-
Candidates should be Indian Nationals or Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders.
Candidates should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, they should satisfy Local or Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions order, 1974.
Candidates should obtain a minimum score of 45% in 10+2 (40% for the reserved category) to satisfy the eligibility criteria of AP EAMCET.
Candidates should have passed Intermediate or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as main subjects and Bio-Technology or Chemistry or Biology as the optional subjects.
Candidates must be 16 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit. However, for courses such as B.Tech. (Ag. Engineering), B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (FS & T), the applicants should be 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission and they should not be more than 22 years of age. The upper age limit for SC/ST Candidates is 25 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admissions.
Important Dates for AP EAMCET 2018Notification of AP EAMCET 2018 was released on February 26, 2018.
Submission of online application forms for AP EAMCET 2018 began from February 28, 2018.
The last date for submission of online applications without late fee was March 29, 2018.
Hall-tickets can be downloaded from the website http://www.sche.ap.gov.in/eamcet from April 18, 2018 onwards.
