AP Education Common Entrance Test 2018
IntroductionThe Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (AP Ed.CET) is conducted by Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Tirupati, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admission into B.Ed. regular course of two years. AP EdCET 2018 will be conducted by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on April 19, 2018 from 11 pm to 1 pm. Andhra EdCET Results 2018 will be announced on April 25, 2018.
Eligibility Criteria for AP EdCET 2018To be eligible for AP EdCET 2018, the candidates should fulfill the following criteria(i) Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
(ii) The Candidates must satisfy Local or Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.
(iii) Educational Qualifications:
(a) Candidates should have passed/appearing for final year examinations of B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (HomeScience)/ B.Com./ B.C.A./ B.B.M. at the time of submitting the Application for APEd.CET- 2018. Candidates would be required to produce marks memo and pass certificate at the time of admission.
(b) Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks either in the Bachelors Degree i.e. B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.M and or in the Postgraduate Degree in relevant subject or 5 years integrated course in the relevant subject of methodology or any other qualification equivalent thereto. However, the candidates belonging to all other reserved categories i.e. S.C. S.T., B.C. (A/B/C/D/E), and physically handicapped should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
Note: The candidates who passed B.E/B.Tech with a minimum of 50% marks, with Mathematics, Physics are eligible for admission into the Course.
(iv) The candidates must have completed the age of 19 years on 1st July of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.

Examination Pattern of AP EdCET 2018The exam consists of 150 questions to be answered in two hours’ time. The examination is divided into 3 parts-
General English – consists of 25 questions of 1 mark each
(1) General Knowledge – consists of 15 questions for 1 mark each
2) Teaching Aptitude – consists of 10 questions for 1 mark each
Methodology- It consists of 100 questions for 1 mark each. Candidate has to choose one of the following subjects-
1) Mathematics - 100 questions
2) Physical Sciences - 100 questions from
(i) Physics -50 questions for 50 marks
(ii) Chemistry -50 questions for 50 marks
3) Biological Sciences - 100 questions from
(i) Botany - 50 questions for 50 marks
(ii) Zoology - 50 questions for 50 marks
4) Social Studies - 100 questions from
(i) Geography - 35 questions for 35 marks
(ii) History – 30 questions for 30 marks
(iii) Civics - 15 questions for 15 marks
(iv) Economics - 20 questions for 20 marks
5) English - 100 questions for 1 mark each
