The Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) is the main state board of education in Goa. It was constituted by the Goa Daman and Diu Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Board Act 1975 on May 27, 1975. GBSHSE conducts the Goa SSC (Class 10) and HSSC (Class 12) Examination in which about 40,000 students appear from across the sea-state. The main aim and objective of the Goa Board is to provide and confer higher standards of education, to pay special attention to improve secondary and higher education in the state so that it meets the required socio-economic standards of development.

GBSHSE announced conducting its SSC (Class 10) & HSSC (Class 12) Examinations for the 2021-22 Academic Session split into 2 Terms - First Term & Second Term. The Goa Board 1st Term Exams 2021 were scheduled in December '21 - January '22, whereas the 2nd Terms Exams 2022 were scheduled in April 2022. This was been done with an aim to ensure students are regularly evaluated and in the case of exams not being held due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Board has a fair evaluation pattern for all students, unlike in 2021 when the exams were cancelled and the Goa Board Result had to be announced only on the basis of an Internal Assessment methodology.

As per the announced Goa Board Date Sheet 2021-22, the Goa Board 10th First Term Exams were held between 1st December 2021 & 12th January 2022, whereas the Goa Board 12th First Term Exams were conducted between 8th December 2021 & 11th January 2022. The Goa Board Second Term Exams 2022 were held as follows: SSC Exams 2022: April 05-26, 2022 and HSSC Exams 2022: April 05-22, 2022. Latest Information on Goa Board Results 2022

This year, with the Goa Board Exams 2021-22 split into 2 terms, the Goa HSSC Results 2022 have been announced on 21st May 2022 at 5 pm, whereas the Goa SSC Results 2022 have been announced on June 01, 2022 at 5.30 pm. The Board has stuck to its announced schedule of conduct of the SSC & HSSC Exams with an aim to bring the Academic Sessions back on track which have been disturbed due to the closure of schools amid the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The Goa Board SSC Results in 2021 were announced on 12th July 2022 at 5 pm. A total of 23,967 students registered for the GBSHSE SSC Exams last year, out of which 99.72% students passed and 67 students failed. Earlier, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had announced that the Goa Board HSSC (Class 12) Examinations 2021 were cancelled in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic and students were marked on the basis of Internal Assessment and a well defined Objective Criteria. The SSC (Class 10) Exams in 2021 were already cancelled earlier. In 2021, the Goa SSC Result was announced on 12th July at 5 PM and the Goa HSSC Result was announced on July 19.
