June 17, 2021: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has submitted its assessment system for Class 12 students to the Supreme Court and has informed that the CBSE Class 12 Results 2021 will be announced by July 31, 2021. The CBSE 12th Result 2021 criteria is as follows:

- Class 12 Students will be marked on a 30:30:40 Marking Scheme i.e. Marks in Best 3 Papers of Class 10 to be given 30% weightage; 30% weightage to Class 11 Marks and 40% weightage to Class 12.

- For evaluating Class 12, marks obtained in the Unit, Term & Practical Examinations will be considered.

- A Result Committee will be formed in each school to submit the marks & these marks would be vetted by a CBSE Moderation Committee to ensure all students are put on an even assessment & marks awarding methodology.

- Historical Performance of schools in the past Class 12 Board Exams will also be considered by the CBSE Moderation Committee.

- Students who are not satisfied with their announced results, will be given an option to appear for improvement exams, which will be held only once the situation normalizes.

The CBSE Class 12 Exams 2021 have been cancelled due to the spiraling COVID-19 cases across the country. The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which he mentioned that the COVID-19 situation has affected the academic calendar and the issue of board exams has caused anxiety among students, parents & teachers and this must be brought to an end. CBSE 12th Results 2021 will be announced on the basis of a well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner. "The COVID situation is a dynamic situation across the country. While the numbers are coming down in the country and some states are managing the situation through effective micro-containment, some states have still opted for a lockdown. Students, parents and teachers are naturally worried about the health of the students in such a situation. Students should not be forced to appear for exams in such a stressful situation", the Prime Minister said.

CBSE Class 12 Exams Cancellation Notice 2021

Earlier, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Education Minister of India, had informed that the CBSE Class 12 Exams 2021, scheduled to begin from 4th May 2021 were postponed in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak across the country. The decision to postpone the exams was taken in a high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The Board Exams for Class 12th to be held from May 4th to June, 14th, 2021 are hereby postponed. These exams will be held hereafter", Nishank informed. "The situation will be reviewed on 1st June 2021 by the Board, and details will be shared subsequently. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations", he further added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that the well-being of the students has to be the top priority for the Government. He also stated that the Centre would keep in mind the best interests of the students and ensure that their health is taken care of at the same time their academic interests are not harmed.

CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2021

The CBSE Class 12 Examinations 2021, scheduled to be conducted between 4th May 2021 and 14th June 2021, have been cancelled and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Results 2021 will be announced on the basis of an Objective Criteria to be announced by the Board. Earlier, while announcing the CBSE Datesheets 2021, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had informed that the CBSE 12th Exams 2021 will be held with a 30 percent reduced syllabus and 33 percent internal choice questions. Nishank also added that, "The records of all CBSE students who enrolled in the span of last 45 years will be digitalized. This will help citizens who enrolled after 1975 to get certificates easily. Further, CBSE will train 10 lakh teachers in the coming year to meet the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020".

CBSE extends the Online Admit Card Generation Facility to all its affiliated schools through which using their Affiliation Code & School Code, schools can login and download the Admit Cards. Generally, CBSE Class 12 Admit Cards 2021 are available for download a month before the examination date.

Effect of Coronavirus Pandemic on CBSE 12th Exam 2020

Amid growing concerns over the safety of students & teachers due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled its Class 12 (Senior Secondary) Examinations 2020 which were scheduled to be conducted between July 1 & 15, 2020. It announced the CBSE 12th Result on July 13, 2020. Last year, a total of 12,03,595 students registered and 11,92,961 appeared for the CBSE Class 12 Examination. Trivandrum recorded the best CBSE Class 12 Result with an overall pass percentage of 97.67 percent.
